Automatic Alarm Upgrades to Structure Fire
Thursday, August 19th, 2021
Thursday August 19, 2021 at 11:30am the Medford Fire Department was activated for an Automatic Fire Alarm at 40 Nantucket Dr. With units responding the alarm was upgraded to a Structure Fire with the occupant reporting a fire, and evacuating. Under Command of Chief of Department Barry, it was determined the fire was contained to a lower level bathroom. First Due Engine 3 stretched a dry line while crews from Engine 7 Ladder 5 and Rescue 15 checked for extension. The alarm was placed under control shortly after.

Wednesday November 30, 2022 at 5:14pm the Medford Fire Department was activated for a “Man vs. Machine” entrapment on Chestnut Avenue in Eagle Estates. Arriving units found a male with his left index finger stuck inside a sewing machine, with the needle through his finger.

Saturday at 12:00am the Medford Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2816 Heather Ave. Upon arrival it was determined the electric meter/ service to the home had malfunctioned causing a fire on the side of the structure.

Wednesday October 5, 2022 at 11:39am the Medford Fire Department responded to a reported shed fire to the rear of 22 1st Avenue. Upon arrival it was determined multiple sheds were involved to the rear of the residence, with chickens and cats trapped within one of the structures.

Saturday October 1, 2022 at approximately 0242 the Medford Fire Department responded to a one car accident with fire infront of 1385 North Ocean Avenue. The occupant was able to exit the vehicle with only minor injuries.

Sunday September 4, 2022 at 0741 the Medford Fire Department was alerted to a house fire at 1900 Fire Avenue. The fire was contained to the attic, all occupants escaped without injury. -The Town Of Brookhaven Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

On Wednesday August 17, 2022 the Medford Fire Department responded to multiple alarms including a brush fire at Munsell Road and National Blvd. Later that evening a serious collision at Bellport Ave and Horseblock Road.

On Wednesday August 10, 2022 at approximately 1753 the Medford Fire Department was alerted to a reported structure fire at 86 Greenport Avenue. First arriving units observed smoke billowing out the second floor window, locating a fire on the first floor kitchen area.

On Sunday August 7, 2022 at 4:38am the Medford Fire Dept responded to a motor vehicle accident on the west bound Long Island Expressway. Crews from Engine 13 and Engine 7 put their Hurst Tools into operation, freeing the rear seat passenger.
